1. How do I find out where C&D Security is hiring?
To find out where C&D Security is currently hiring, just click on the Search Jobs tab in the Career section of the C&D Security website.
2. How do I apply with C&D Security?
To apply for a position with C&D Security, just click on the Submit an Application tab in the Career section of the C&D Security website.
3. How do I know my application was processed?
All applications that have been submitted correctly will automatically send an email to the email address you have listed on your application. If you have a spam filter on your email account, make sure you check this filter if you did not receive an email confirmation.
4. What is my application status?
All applications for available jobs are automatically sent to the divisions for review. Because of the number of applications C&D Security receives, this process takes time.
5. Should I call the local division to check my application status?
No. All applications are stored electronically and will be reviewed. You will be contacted either by email or phone call when a decision is made.
6. How much does a job as a Security Officer pay?
C&D Security tailors its services to the specific needs of each client. Consequently the pay and benefits an employee earns is determined by the job site he/she is assigned to. Each individual site's pay levels are determined by the qualifications, training, and experience required, as well as the city and state it is located in and the cost of living in that area. Therefore generally the more experienced and qualified an applicant is, the better the pay and benefits at the site he/she is assigned. C&D is competitive in each market it operates in and generally is in the upper half of average pay levels.
7. I've never worked as a Security Officer. Can I still get a job with C&D Security?
Yes. Each client and job site has its own requirements in personnel qualifications, training, and experience. However many locations work well with new security officers and don't require extensive or prior security experience. C&D Security helps new employees with licensing and provides any training needed in Basic Security or Advanced Skills. As you gain experience at these sites, and C&D helps you gain more training and qualifications in specific areas such as weapons qualifications, CPR/1st Aid Training, higher level security clearances, etc. more opportunities become available.
8. I've heard of Security Companies that require employees to buy their uniforms, and it's really expensive. Does C&D Security do this?
C&D Security provides all uniforms and equipment free of charge to its employees. This includes all uniform items such as shirts, trousers, hats, coats, etc that are required at an employee's assigned job site. It also includes any equipment a job site may require such as weapons, leather, vehicles, radios, etc.
9. Can I get health insurance and other benefits with C&D Security?
Like pay levels, benefits offered vary from client to client, and depends upon their goals and qualifications needed. Usually benefits provided at the various sites include things such as Health Insurance, Pension Plans, Holiday Pay, Vacation Pay, and specific incentive awards and plans.
10. Are promotions and advancement available?
C&D Security prefers to promote from within. Considerations for promotion include areas such as dependability, exhibited judgment and people skills, experience, and training. Also other considerations come into play such as willingness to relocate, shift availability, and client approval.
11. I've heard that security is mostly for retired cops and military. Is this true with C&D Security?
Although experience in the military and a police background often prove valuable, today in the security industry there is much more emphasis on personal skills and ability than a police and military background. Corporate and government environments more often require skills such as computer literacy, CCTV and alarm systems experience and public relations skills for their security professionals.
12. I've had a speeding ticket in the past. Does that keep me from getting hired?
Generally no, although a moving violations history may limit assignment options that require driving a company or client vehicle. Most assignments do not require driving, although some do. We do conduct criminal and civil background checks that require no felony or moral turpitude misdemeanor convictions.
13. Does C&D Security require Drug Screening?
Yes. Usually we conduct both pre-employment and random screenings.
